i'm such a divvy chops.....

Hello ladies, hope you're all well and not looking like drowned rats like i am.... damn weather!!!! grrrr......
Well, it's been a funny week really. My darling Et went off to his dad's on Friday (after spending the whole afternoon in Krazy Kaves with his cousins) and boy have i missed him!!! although, it has been quite nice in some respects, but i cant wait to have him home on friday :) xx
So yes, friday we went to KK, and then friday night it was my friends hen night. I was having a fab time, and then we left Havant to go to Gunwharf and i, being the dozy moo i am, fell between the gap between the train and the platform.... yes- the PLEASE MIND THE GAP bit :( ...... highly amusing but i now have adn VERY bruised foot, and i was in soooooo much pain i had to leave early :(
Saturday Josh and Harry went home and Ben and i were supposed to be going to a wedding reception in Farnborough, but because i could barely walk we gave it a miss :( (its much better now tho)
Sunday we went up to kent; Ben's bro, sis in law and niece live there so we stayed with them till tuesday. We went out for an amazing all you can eat chinese, nad Eryn obviously saw it was a challenge, and ate LOADS lol,. Monday we went to Howlets zoo (where they film 'Roar') and it was great!!! the gorillas were AMAZING!!!!!! But we both felt incredibly guilty for not having the boys with us.
Tuesday we travelled home (with a screaming Eryn in the back)and my bro who lives in London was staying with my dad for a couple of days so we went to visit him, and it was the first time Ben met my dad.... its was, interesting, but a lovely afternoon and evening and my dad treated us to dinner at the Harvester which was very yummy :)
Wednesday i went to see an old friend of mine and Eryn was an angel which was lovely. Sometimes Eryn turns into the devil, or just gets really clingy when were with people she doesnt really know, but she was her happy cheeky self today :)
Ben's got the day off again today so were going to view the rest of the pictures we had taken at the photographers.... we viewed them saturday and i spent, well, a fortune.... but there was only one pic of Eryn on her own, so the photographer took some of her again then, im picking the ones i want tomo.... but this time iv set a budget!! lol. Then my mummy is coming over and we're going to take her to lunch. She's had last week and this week off work and has spent it decorating- so not overly exciting... but unfortunately, my step-dads bank card was cloned and £498 was spent from their joint account!!!! so she's not had the best 'holiday' so i thought i'd treat her....i dont know how people who do that sort of thing can sleep at night! bastards..... but they have got it back through the fraud team at the bank already- it only took at couple of days.
Routines, hmmmm well, Ethan didn't have one when he was a baby, he was fed on demand and hardly slept at all so i resorted to keeping him up with me in the evening and we were up at 5 every morning for the first 3 years.... (i hated it when the clocks went back!! lol) but in terms of breakie/lunch/dinner and snacks he had a strict routine. As he got older i forced a bedtime routine upon him, which didnt go down too well and he only started sleeping through when he was 4, YES 4!!!! As Liz said, i think that with your first baby it's very easy to fit in around them. It's a completely different story now though as Ethan LOVES routine and can get quite narky if something changes :S
Eryn has been completely different though, and put herself into a feeding and sleeping routine very early on (about 6wks old). When she first started going to bed at about 8, i didnt know what to do with myself! lol, Although she's only been sleeping through for a couple of months (which is bliss!!) I've not been strict about her eating times but that was mainly because when i was breastfeeding she could just top up on milk when she wanted. And she tells me when she's hungry now (which is most of the time!)
The reason i chose this subject is because i've heard a few people (pregnant and new mums) say that their babies must have this/that routine and some seem to live by the 'Little contented baby' books or equilvalent..... i read them when i was carrying Et, but i soon learnt not all babies fit in 'that box' lol.....
Anyways, enough from me.... take care girls :) xx

  1. "he only started sleeping through when he was 4, YES 4!!!!"

I can see me having this situation with Buggle!!

"Eryn has been completely different though, and put herself into a feeding and sleeping routine very early on (about 6wks old)"

Second babies must just be VERY good!!

"...babies must have this/that routine and some seem to live by the 'Little contented baby' books or equilvalent"

I find exactly the same and as I said in my post those kinds of routines can be very restrictive. I do know a few people who follow them but 'bend' the routine a little though to suit their needs and this seems to work for them. Everyone is different I suppose x
